Understanding trauma

Trauma refers to any physical injury resulting from external forces. These injuries can vary in severity, ranging from minor wounds to life-threatening conditions. If not treated promptly and effectively, trauma can lead to serious complications such as shock, respiratory failure, neurological damage, organ failure, or even death.

Common causes of trauma include road traffic accidents (RTA), burn injuries, sports injuries, falls and accidental injuries, natural disasters, industrial and workplace accidents, and violence and assaults.
